Introduction

Hey guys,  In this post I will be explaining my picks and my league settings.  As I have said above in my blog description, I am in 2 leag...

Top 10 QB

Welcome,

This is my top 10 QB section where I will be listing off my top 10 QB's with my reason of why I feel that way about them.  Make sure to check back daily, as I will be updating 2 places every day.

1. Cam Newton

With an MVP under his belt already, and only 27 years old, Cam Newton should continue his growth and be even better than last year.  With the return of Kelvin Benjamin, Cam should enjoy more passing yards and TDs, and open up the running game for Cam and Jonathan Stewart to cruise into the end zone.  The outlook is good for Cam Newton.

2. Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson proved last year just how much of a fantasy beast he can be.  If he continues this high volume passing offense with a mix of rushing yards/TDs then he will again be an extremely valuable QB.  If you are taking a QB early, the only 2 I would consider before Russell would be Rodgers and Cam.

3. Aaron Rodgers

A lot of people argue he is even 1 or 2 in QB rankings this year, but I am not convinced after his performances in some games last year.  He looks like age is kind of getting to him, but for the sake of him being Aaron Rodgers, I have to have him top 3.  He is getting hopefully the real Eddie Lacy back, and he has Jordy Nelson.  I think with these two weapons back in the mix, he has a good year and goes back to his normal self.

4. Tom Brady

Even though he has a 4 game suspension, I see no way that Brady isn't still a top 5 QB.  He had a career year last year, and he was 38.  He is truly an ageless wonder.  I will not be taking him, just because I am a fan of finding a value QB in a later round, but if you are a QB happy person Brady is going lower this year, and should be a steal for the mid to end of the season.

4.5. Andrew Luck

Since I forgot about the Luck Ness Monster, I made a rank 4.5 for him.  He should return to form this year and have a continued successful NFL career.  The only scary part about Luck is his high turnover rate.  Luck has nice weapons and an improved running game from his last full season, so I see no reason for him not to return to his previous self.

5. Ben Roethlisberger

Ben Roethlisberger already has a guaranteed 1700 yards and 10 TDs if Antonio Brown stays healthy, so the question really becomes, who else will step up.  I'm not sure it matters that much, because Big Ben has proven time and time again that he is an elite QB in this league, so I'm not worried.  If you want an every week starter, Big Ben will be a cheaper option for your fantasy team.

6. Eli Manning

With the receiving core that Eli has, there shouldn't be much of a problem with him repeating what he did last year.  Eli should have another solid year, but the only problem is he is super inconsistent.  I had him and there were games that he won me, and games that he lost me.  With the emergence of Sterling Shepard and OBJ already established, Eli most likely will have another good year.

7. Kirk Cousins

Kirk Cousins came out last year and played some phenomenal football.  The Giants defense added some corners, but other than that he plays in one of the weakest defensive divisions in all of football, so if he keeps his composed self esteem like he did last year, he should be a sleeper and a breakout candidate.  He came out and said he thinks the Redskins will be like the Spurs of football this year, and if thats the case, maybe he will be Kawhi Leonard.

8. Drew Brees

Drew Brees was once a top 3 QB every year, but its no longer that way anymore.  He had some good weeks last year, but he showed some signs of fading out.  I think he will still be a solid start every week this year, but beware he is no longer the fantasy stud he used to be.  I think Michael Thomas and Brandin Cooks bring a solid receiving core to the Saints, so he should be a solid QB.

9. Philip Rivers

As long as Keenan Allen stays healthy, I see no reason for Rivers not to continue his usual 275+ fantasy points at the QB position.  He does need some help from the RB position this year if he wants to return to the elite level of QB, but I would feel comfortable with Philip Rivers as my starter.  I worry that the division the Chargers is in will hurt Rivers value in some weeks, so have a backup QB ready at hand.  Final verdict: good starter, not match up proof.

10. Matt Ryan

Matt Ryan has a very solid offense around him with the two headed backfield of Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman, as well as none other than the beast himself.  Julio Jones could easily break 2,000 yards in any given season, especially if he gets another 200+ target year.  Matt Ryan has also come out and said he feels the best he's felt in his career, and he has been very accurate in practice.  The last point I have to make here is the god awful NFC South.  If you have read my other posts, you will know how much I continuously hate on the NFC South's defensive teams.
