Who's Hot and Who's Not! (Week 9)

Who's Hot
Colin Kaepernick

I'm going out on a limb here, but given that he is facing New Orleans this week, and he seems to always do at least a little damage on the ground.  I think Kaep will be a top 5 QB this week, and he has a very high floor.

Davante Adams

Davante Adams has been getting TONS of receptions, and if this trend continues I think he easily fits into the WR2 category.  Must start in my opinion given the volume of targets.  If he can snag a catch in the end zone, he definitely will put up WR1 stats.

Michael Thomas

Michael Thomas managed to put up decent numbers last week, even though he was playing a stingy Seattle defense.  I was actually impressed by his numbers and have a lot of confidence in Thomas, especially with Drew Brees at the helm.  If he isn't on a roster in your league pick him up ASAP and if you have him, DON'T BENCH HIM.

Eric Ebron

Like Kaepernick, this is more of a long shot pick.  I think Ebron will have a good week because he is just such a big target in the red zone.  With the Vikings looking a little sloppier as of late, hopefully Detroit can capitalize and get Ebron some looks.  Look for Ebron as a spot start if you have someone like Jordan Reed or Gronk on a bye this week.

Who's Not
Todd Gurley

The Panthers defense looked good against the run last week, and I think they have some momentum.  This doesn't help a struggling Gurley, and his woes will continue.  I am still steering clear of the Gurley train as I was before my draft.

Devontae Booker

Devontae Booker will be good this week if he scores a touchdown.  Other than that I don't see him doing much of anything.  He was less than impressive last week averaging a measly 2.8 Yards Per Carry.  That being said, he just gets so many carries that he could score a TD.

Jay Ajayi

Here is my bold prediction for the Who's Not section.  I am not 100% on board with this prediction, but it's just a gut feeling.  I think the Jay Ajayi train gets slowed down in New York and he rushes for less than 80 yards.  Let the games begin in this AFC East rivalry matchup.

Who's Hot and Who's Not! (Week 8)

Who's Hot
Jamison Crowder

Jamison Crowder has scored more than 9 points in 5 of his last 6 games, and I am changing from skeptical to maybe he is actually worth playing.  I will be starting him this week in my league, and I think he holds his value at least until Jordan Reed returns.

Andy Dalton

After a sluggish start, Andy Dalton has put up over 20 points in his last 3 games.  He is facing the Redskins this week, but even so I think he can keep up the good work.

Quincy Enunwa

Only owned in 50% of leagues, if you can snag Enunwa off waivers it should be a steal.  I think that Fitzpatrick will improve his numbers greatly now that he is playing with a chip on his shoulder, improving Enunwa's production.

LeGarrette Blount

With the Patriots leading a ton of the time, LeGarrette Blount is a pretty solid option every week.  He will always get some garbage time carries to run out the clock, and usually this leads to a Touchdown or 2 per week for Blount.  From a consistency standpoint, Blount is the best of the best.

Who's Not
DeVonta Freeman

With Tevin Coleman proving himself capable of receiving and running, DeVonta Freeman's role seems to be deteriorating.  I would get rid of Freeman now while you still can, and get another RB1 or WR1.

The Chicago Bears Backfield

I have fallen victim to this confusing wretched mess that is the Bears backfield and I honestly would stay away for a few weeks until things settle.  I currently own all 3 Bears RB's in hopes that one of them will come out and be the clear starter.  Hopefully this happens, but if not I could be in trouble.

Jamaal Charles

The Chiefs are clearly in no hurry to get Charles back on the field with Ware tearing it up so far this year.  I am not a fan of Charles and hopefully he does return at some point so that his investors get some value out of him.

Who's Hot and Who's Not! (Week 7)

Who's Hot
Cole Beasley

I actually snagged Beasley off of waivers within the first 3 games of the season.  He has grown a real bond with Dak Prescott, and assuming Prescott remains starter, Beasley should continue to see the volume.  He is a majorly consistent player, so even if he doesn't score he will still manage 7-10 points off of yards.  PPR wise, Beasley is a MUST START WR2 every week.

Martellus Bennett

I managed to take Bennett dead last in both of my TE leagues, and in my other league I picked him up off waivers to be mixed in as a FLEX2.   I think Bennett and Gronk can be what Aaron Hernandez and Gronk used to be.  The deadly duo of them two will slash any defense apart.  I've been high on Bennett all year, and I continue my thoughts going into Week 7.

Michael Thomas

The rookie out of OSU was a bit disappointing in Weeks 1-2, but then in Week 3, he made a nice snag inside the 5 yard line for a TD, and ever since Drew Brees has had faith in Thomas in the red zone.  Like I said in my Sleepers, Busts and Breakouts section, Thomas is a legitimate red zone threat, and he seemingly is gaining Drew Brees's trust.  Thats a good combination of factors to have going for you.

Jay Ajayi

Before Arian Foster came to Miami, I actually really liked Jay Ajayi this year in fantasy.  That being said, his draft stock took a huge hit when Foster signed, but he seems to be regaining value.  I don't think that his 200+ yard rushing game was a fluke, even though I am usually skeptical.  I love seeing consistency, and I think Ajayi brings some hope to the Miami running game.  Finally, he is available in over 57% of ESPN leagues, which means he might be available in yours...

Who's Not
Eddie Lacy

I had very high hopes for my man Eddie Lacy in the beginning of this year, but as the season went on I became skeptical, so I traded him away for Emmanuel Sanders and Victor Cruz.  It's not that Eddie Lacy is playing poorly, it's that the Packers refuse to establish a legit running game.  Eddie Lacy is someone you should hold on to until he has a breakout week, and then sell high.

Todd Gurley

Like I said in my preseason Sleepers, Busts, and Breakouts section, I said Gurley was a bust.  I also said by bust I meant around top 15 RB.  I hold by this statement, but if you can try and get better value out of him and trade for a WR1/RB2 combo before it's too late.  There were too many factors against him this year to have another special year.

Panthers D/ST

This is an unorthodox one because it isn't a player, but more a group of players.  Carolina defense has been awful this year, and they have been absolutely torn apart now by the Falcons and the Saints.  To be fair these are great offenses, but I don't know how confident I would be with the Panthers D going forward.

Weekly Update #1!

Hey Guys!

I am back!  I am currently 4-2, 2-4, and 2-4, although I am feeling pretty good about all 3 of my teams.  I successfully snuffed out a few good waiver wire pickups such as Cole Beasley and Jamison Crowder, who have helped me greatly after the injury to Keenan Allen.  I'll be trying to post every Tuesday from here on out.
